Friday, March 12 7-10 p.m.  Enjoy classic hits from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s with local talent Michael Quale…12 string and classical guitar and vocals, and his own unique style.  $5 at the door

 Saturday, March 13, 8:00 pm:  - Alaskan singer/songwriter Tom Begich returns to Centre Stage for an evening of heartfelt contemporary folk music. Tom completely mesmerized the audience with his moving songs, rich vocals and awesome guitar playing when he was here in October. Don’t miss what is sure to be a magical evening. Admission is $10 at the door or $8 in advance. Stop by Centre Stage or Earl E. Books to get your tickets in advance, since this show will probably sell out. This will be a fundraiser for the Stagelights Musical Arts Community, so come out and support this great organization while enjoying some fantastic music.

Saturday, February 27, 7-10 p.m.  Join Rapp Brush, Cousin Elmo, Bill Pearson, and Dave Tanner for some good old country music!  These boys have been around for a long time (as the name implies), and know all your favorite country songs.  $5 at the door

Thursday, Feb. 18, 7-10 p.m.  The twice monthly jam will feature any and all genres, depending on who shows up!  Sound system and drums are in place, just grab your instrument or tune up your singing voice, and come on down.  We welcome an audience too, so if you aren’t inclined to join in, but love to listen to music…we would love to see you!   Free event, donations to Stagelights appreciated.

Sunday, Feb. 14, 5-7 p.m.  Join us for a very special Valentine’s Day Dinner Show.  The menu will include Lasagna (choice of meat or vegetarian), Salad, Garlic Bread, Dessert, and a Beverage.   “Crooner” music and love songs performed by The Wafler Effect:  Rick Wafler, Heather Klensay, Nick Sandoval, Patrick Graves, and Danny Clark.  Dress up in your finery and enjoy a romantic evening, Centre Stage style!  $25 per couple, advance tickets only.   You may purchase your tickets by phone, 541-251-3952 or 541-412-8099. 

Saturday, Feb. 13, 4-7 p.m.  Featured artists:  James Anderson, whimsical sculpture, oriental influence mixed media, beaded jewelry.  Bette Sherbourne, mixed media.  Featured musical guests:  Homemade Jam.  Father/daughter duo Chris Vorster and Willow Owings, guitar/mandolin/vocals.  Refreshments will be available too!

Thursday, Feb. 11, 7-10 p.m.  Join Kim Banfield for an evening of strumming, drumming, singing, and fun!  We might even break out the karaoke machine if we run out of songs to play.  All ages and skill levels welcome.  The sound system and drums are in place, just grab your instruments and come on down.  This is a free event, donations to Stagelights are appreciated. 

Thursday, Feb. 4, 7-10 p.m.  Percussionist Gordon Later hosts the Join In Jam, now on the first and third Thursdays of the month.  We provide the sound system and drums, you bring your instruments and/or voices.  All genres and skill levels welcome.  This is a free event, but please donate to Stagelights if you can, in order to help cover the costs (building & utilities) for this and other community events.

Wednesday, January 20 6-9 p.m.  You are invited to the Redwood Theater to view the Playing for Change (peace through music) documentary and to experience the uplifting message of the film.  The Stagelights House Band will kick off the show with 45 minutes of music.  There will be a discussion session after the film, and sign up sheets will be available for music lessons and the youth choir.  This is a fund raiser for Stagelights Musical Arts Community and the suggested donation is $5.  If you don’t have a donation, please come anyway!  Doors open at 5:30.  The Redwood Theater is located at 621 Chetco Ave., downtown Brookings.  Our thanks go to Tim Patterson for donating the use of his venue to our cause!

Erik Mackenroth Bio:

Erik Mackenroth was a finalist in Orange County’s Funniest Person contest in 2002 and 2006.  He also appeared on “The Extreme Gong Show” as a Flamingo Dancer who shoved live cockroaches down his pants.  Other television appearances include, “Clubhouse” on CBS and the ABC Family show, “Switched”.  Mackenroth also appeared in the movie “Cloud Nine” with Burt Reynolds and National Lampoons Dirty Jokes the Movie, as a drunk.  He has also worked in commercials with Disney and Savin Photocopiers.  Mackenroth has shared the stage with comedians Vic Dunlop, Dat Phan, Bill Kirchenbauer, Jimmie Walker, Bruce Baum, Todd Glass, and Joey Medina from the Latino Kings of Comedy, just to name a few.  You can hear Erik every Tuesday morning on his radio show, “The Downtown Lounge” on LA Talk Radio. 

Friday, January 15, 7-10 p.m.  Jurassic Country and Co. will entertain us with good old country music at it’s best!  Featuring Rapp Brush (guitar & vocals), Cousin Elmo (bass & vocals), Bill Pearson (lead guitar), Matt Harrison (percussion).  $6 per person $10 per couple (any 2 people attending together, grab a friend and save a couple of bucks!)

Thursday, January 14, 7-10 p.m.   Grab your instrument and join other music lovers for an evening of improv!  All skill levels and all ages welcome!  Whether you like rock, country, folk, blues, or jazz, Centre Stage is the place to cut loose!  Our jam schedule will change after this week, so watch for new events.  This is a “Stagelights” event and so there is no admission charge, but please support your local musical arts community by donating what you can.

Saturday, Dec. 19  7-9 p.m. 

Rick Shaw Concert with an Appetizer Buffet.   Rick Shaw…not a stage name, comes by songwriting honestly. He really had no choice - the genes ruled! His Grandmother - on Dad’s side was a country/ blues songwriter/singer during the depression and all through her life. She passed the country songwriting along to her son Jim Shaw, who ended up in and out of Nashville, Tennessee during his musical career, pitching songs and performing with the country artists of the 50’s 60’s and early 70’s. Rick Shaw will be performing Country/Rock/Blues/Jazz originals and covers for your enjoyment’.  Rick hails from Grants Pass, but has performed at several locations here in Brookings during this past summer.  The cover charge is $12 and will include an appetizer buffet and beverages.    Reservations are encouraged, but not required for this event.

Friday, Dec. 18  7-10 p.m.  Join us for a special evening of Christmas and inspirational entertainment!  Perry Devine hosts this event, if you are interested in performing, email us to get on the list.  Plan on doing at least a couple of holiday related songs.  The Stagelights Band will start things off…There is no cover charge, but you might bring a food item or something warm to give to the needy~or you can contribute to the Stagelights Musical Arts Community fund.

Thursday, Dec. 17  7-10 p.m.  It’s the last Join In Jam of 2009…grab your instrument or just come on down to enjoy the music.  No cover, but donations to Stagelights (SMAC) are gratefully accepted.  New lesson program starts after the first of the year.

Friday, December 4, 7-10 p.m.  Michael Quale will be performing your favorite classic rock hits from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s.  With classical and 12 string guitar, and rich vocals, Michael draws from an extensive song list and is a favorite around town for listening pleasure.  $6 per person at the door, couples $10

Thursday, December 3, 7-10 p.m. Come and join in or just enjoy the music!  Our last few jams have been a delightful mix of all ages, and all music genres…if you have an itch to get up on stage and play or sing, but perhaps haven’t done it before or need a little encouragement, this is the perfect place to try it out.  No pressure, relaxing atmosphere, great acoustics, and no telling what kind of music will be generated.  Always fun, this is a free event, though we do gratefully accept contributions to the Stagelights Musical Arts Community fund.

Thursday, Nov. 5, 7-10 p.m. Bring your instruments and join Gordon and friends for some great music and a good time.  Spectators always welcome, musicians love to have an audience!  Musicians of all ages are encouraged to come check it out, meet other musicians, learn new material.  This is a CMAC event, no cover, donations to the Community Musical Arts Center gratefully accepted.  We need your help to keep putting on these events!

Thursday, Oct. 22 7-10 p.m. The ever popular Join In Jam will be hosted by the ever popular Gordon Later (owner Earl E. Books & drum/conga player)…after a seemingly long absence from the music scene at Centre Stage, we are happy to welcome Gordon back to the stage.  So, grab your instruments and Join In!  This is a “donation” event, if you can please do…if you can’t, please come anyway!  All donations go into the fund for CMAC  (Community Musical Arts Center~formerly “Stagelights”), and are used to put on these events and to help students of all ages achieve their musical goals.
