Saturday, August 29  7-10 p.m.  Greg Fredericks and Dirk Price, joined by local drummer Ken (Dr. D) Podesta Daniels, will grace Centre Stage during this one time performance!  Below, a little fascinating information about The Rogue Suspects…

The Rogue Suspects are one of Southern Oregon’s hardest working funky blues bands. Their sound has been described as a cross between Stevie Ray Vaughn and Steely Dan. Now in its fifth year “The Suspects” have appeared at just about every major club, festival and concert venue in the region.

Whether its opening for legendary James Brown at the Britt Festival, performing as the back up band for Rock & Roll icon Bo Diddley or appearing in local night spots, the “The Suspects” are professional, versatile and exciting. Ron McCune Director of the Britt Festival calls the Suspects “the best local band’. James Brown called them “the real deal”“ The Suspects have individually performed on over 30 albums and have appeared on stages around the world. They presently are recording tracks on numerous projects that include a new “Suspects” album, scoring films and television programs and working with other artist’s albums. DIRK PRICE (Guitarist/Vocalist/Writer) – This Texas native cut his teeth in the clubs of Austin. The combination of the Texas Blues that he grew up with and Jazz influences learned as a graduate of Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles have made Dirk a highly sought after Guitarist, writer/arranger and music director for groups around the world. Dirk built a name for himself as guitarist with the Coasters and as Music Director for the Inkspots . He has been scoring national television programs and running his online music school. Dirk recently scored the High Definition PBS Documentary The Mirror of Heaven which is airing currently throughout Canada, Mexico and the United States. Dirk’s superior style and voice have earned him the title of “The Duke of Ashland”.

GREG FREDERICK (Bass) – He has influences and style that reflect the great bassists of Rock and Roll and Motown. Greg has shared the stage with many Rock, Jazz and Blues legends over the past 35 years including Miss Lavelle White, Eric Burdon, Bill Watrus, Johnny Hartsman, Buddy Miles, Bo Diddley, Bruce Forman, Vince Neal, Founded the Bay Area band Turkey Brothers. Greg has appeared at jazz and blues and rock festivals all around the country and his band Nickel & a Nail which included Pablo Cruise singer Bud Cockrel and B3 monster Danny Abrams from Walter Trout Band were featured artist at the 1996 Monterey Blues Festival. Greg has played on numerous albums and television soundtracks. His six string bass style has been described as “solid, versatile aggressive” and as “just plain fun to watch”

Toni Land with guitarist Dale Morgan, in concert!

Saturday, August 15  8-10 p.m.  Centre Stage presents Toni Land in concert with Dale and Izzy Morgan…Toni Land, award winning singer/songwriter is described as “surefooted in her travels between country and folk.”  Her fourth CD, Lucky Cat, released on Wondergirl Music, is bluegrass, country and rock and roll at it’s best.  Fun, intelligent, and heart-warming, Lucky Cat unfurls like one of Land’s captivating performances:  Full throttle at the start, dynamic in the middle, and intimate at the end.  Land is a stellar songwriter and has earned publishing and production deals throughout her career and has been awarded Best Songwriter by the International Acoustic Music Awards and the Portland Songwriter Association.  

Dale and Izzy Morgan, father-son guitar and vocal duo from Crescent City, CA, will open the show for Land.  Dale Morgan will accompany Land during the rest of the performance.  Morgan is a well-respected guitarist and instructor, and has been performing in Crescent City for a number of years.

Friday, August 7  7-9 p.m.   Mariah Leanne (aka Mariah Gurney) will take Centre Stage and entertain us with her own brand of pop rock interpretations and originals.  She will be joined by some very special guests for the second half of her show.   This is a free concert, though donations to the “Stagelights Music & Arts Education Program” are always appreciated!

The Backstage Cafe’ will be open for refreshment during this event. 

Craig Allen Blues Band! Cancelled due to medical emergency

We are very sorry to announce that Craig Allen has had to have emergency surgery due to a diabetic condition, that he will not be able to perform this time around.  We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him to Centre Stage at a later date!

Saturday, August 8, 8 p.m. – ???  The Craig Allen Blues Band will be on Centre Stage (and possibly in front of…) for a donation only concert to warm us up for their appearance the next day for the American Music Festival concert at Azalea Park. 

 

The Craig Allen Blues Band began making themselves known to Klamath Falls, southern Oregon and northern California in 1998 after it was formed in a little nightclub on Main Street known today as Tony’s Lounge or Antonio’s Cuchina Italiana.  Since that time the band has recorded three CD’s with a 4th slated for release this fall.   Their “Live at the Iron Horse CD” received rave reviews from radio stations and fans across the U.S. and abroad.

 The Craig Allen Blues Band includes Craig Allen, Tom Sims, Tom Wallenburn, J.J. Hannum, Curt Christian, Robert “RC” Harlow. 

The Backstage Cafe’ will be open for espresso and refreshment during this event.

Saturday, August 1  7-10 p.m.  Centre Stage will present a Homestyle Mexican Feast (prepared by The Backstage Cafe’) and country music by long time Brookings musicians Rapp Brush and Cousin Elmo.  With Rapp on guitar, Elmo on bass, and both sharing vocals and harmonies, this show will really take you back to the good old country sound.  Add to that a luscious dinner featuring tacos, chili rellenos, rice, beans, and dessert…what a great bargain for dinner and a concert,  tickets are only $15.  Advance reservations please.  Tickets available at Earl E.
