Stagelights Musical Arts Community (SMAC)
Our mission is simple. To provide opportunities for music education and enrichment for students and music lovers of all ages, regardless of ability to pay. To provide a venue, a place for musicians to connect and to perform.

Members of the Stagelights Band: Kim Banfield-vocals & hand percussion, James Anderson-vocals, Tim Mueller-guitar, Gordon Later-drums, Scott Graves-congas/hand percussion, Jef Hatch-harmonic/vocals, Woody-bass guitar, Michael George-rythm guitar.
Stagelights raises money for the music lesson and outreach programs through fundraiser concerts, community donations, sponsors, and grants. We are a non-profit operating under the umbrella of BACA (Brookings Area Council on the Arts) and as such all donations are tax-deductible. We are in the process of putting together a summer program for high school students, especially those who are not employed in summer jobs and who have an interest in music, song-writing, recording, and graphic design.
Music Lessons are being set up for the following : Guitar, Drum, Banjo, Violin, Piano, and Vocal. Some of the teachers available for instruction are Dale Morgan, beginning to advanced guitar-Ted Erdahl, beginning guitar-Carl Rovainen, beginning violin and banjo-Matt Harrison, beginning percussion-Heather Clensay, piano-Kim Banfield, beginning vocals.
